On Tuesday, June 11, Kura Oncology joined nonprofits Life Science Cares San Diego and Mama’s Kitchen for a ribbon-cutting ceremony commemorating Kura’s $100,000 donation toward Life Science Cares’ Food is Medicine Initiative.
This contribution supports Mama’s Kitchen in its mission to meet the needs of individuals coping with food insecurity. The donation enabled Mama’s Kitchen to purchase two electric vehicles that to deliver up to 1,000 medically tailored meals per week to critically ill patients throughout San Diego. Additionally, the donation will support Life Science Cares’ volunteer engagement program to provide 7,000 pounds of food to Feeding San Diego.
This announcement builds upon Kura’s 2023 $250,000 donation to Life Science Cares, which supported the exposure of thousands of young people to STEM-based career opportunities.
Watch the video as Kura CEO, Troy Wilson, discusses the Food is Medicine initiative and how Kura’s ongoing partnership with Life Science Cares is making a significant impact in both the Boston and San Diego communities.
