Employee Profile

Ryan Snyder

Director, Business Development

What are your responsibilities at Kura?

I manage the organizations business development activities. This includes working with the senior leadership team to devise appropriate corporate and business development strategies, as well as providing business and commercial input to the research and development teams.

What excites you most about your work?

I feel privileged to work with our scientists as they advance novel oncology programs to hopefully one day help cancer patients, and I look to support the organization in any way I can to help make approvals possible.

What attracted you to working at Kura?

Biotech is an inherently high-risk career choice, and the only way to really mitigate that risk is to find and work with the most talented management and R&D teams.

What’s unique or special about Kura’s culture/environment?

Troy and his team have an excellent reputation in the local biotech community, and I was excited by the opportunity to join the organization.

What’s the most fun or rewarding project you’ve worked on?

The exciting thing about Kura’s pipeline is that each program has the potential to introduce a new therapy where little progress has been made for these patients in years, if not decades. Having worked at AML-focused companies previously, it has been amazing to see the menin-MLL program transform from targeting an important, but very small subset of acute leukemias, to potentially treating common mutations in AML and other hematologic malignances that have seen little progress in drug development efforts.

What is something that most people don’t know about you?

I am anxiously awaiting the day when I can get my daughter on her first surfboard.
